Cllr Ingleton
I was born in Margate and have lived in Thanet throughout my life, in Margate, Broadstairs, Garlinge and in Minster for the past six years. Having decided to move from Garlinge, the sense of community, environment and well being was an immediate attraction and central to my family’s decision to move to Minster.
I commenced my career in Local Government at Margate Borough Council, moving to Thanet District Council in 1974 and to Dover District Council in 1977. Throughout my employment at Dover I was involved in a wide range of Engineering, Town Planning, Development and Regeneration activities including Open Golf Championships. For the 10 years prior to my retirement I was a Head of Service responsible for Inward Investment and most latterly Tourism.
My wife, Hazel, is also retired. We have two daughters, both of whom are graduates in the medical sector and continue to live locally with their families.
Key interests include grand children, gardening and all sports, supporting West Ham and primarily playing golf (which is beyond frustrating at times).
Having enjoyed an extensive career in Local Government, I am delighted to become a Parish Councillor and have the opportunity to give something back to my home village. Ensuring that the environment is protected from the adverse impacts of development and that Minster remains a special place for all who live here is of uppermost importance to me.
